the gap of interstate 08245 covers the summit. ken pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> the rain in the bay hear has had a big impact on the snow in the sierra. officials save the content of the snow pack is 146% of normal for this time of year. the snow pack provides a third of the water supply for homes, farms and industries in california. the first official snow survey is scheduled for next week. >>> a fatal accident closed pap lo road this afternoon. the highway patrol says the chevy trail blazer going north crossed the center line and hit a car coming the other way. a woman from richmond and her dog died in the passat. the driver of the trail blazer, a man in his 20s suffered a broken arm in the collision. >>> santa rosa police are investigating the death of a 70 year old woman who was found in a pond at a condominium complex this morning. a man found the body at the wood lake complex off eulupa avenue north when he came to clean up from a party. he recognized the woman as his neighbor. neither lived at the condo complex. police say there were no obvious signs showing how that woman di
're live in green brain -- greenbrae this morning, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, alex. >>> rising creek waters flooded roadways an temporarily closed highway 101. it happened on the peninsula in a creek that overflowed its banks. janine de la vega is live at the creek to show us some of the damage. >> reporter: well, we're right here on the border of palo alto and east palo alto. this is highway 101 and the creek flows right underneath it and the water was so high last night that it was flashing up over and onto the freeway. this is video of that same area of what it looked like last night. water was flooding on 101, north of the embarcadero. the highway patrol was helping motorists with traffic breaks. the creek crested at university avenue and woodland. the water spilled over and into the entrance of the four seasons hotel. fire officials say even though there was not massive damage, they remain worried about the creek. >> we need to work on these holes in this levy. can't leave it like this especially since we're early in the winter and this is the second significan

because it was considered a crime scene. earlier this morning ktvu called oakland police and they confirmed they didn't because they didn't have enough officers. we tried to call the crash victim but got no answer on his cell phone but we don't know if he is still stranded. >> new york police are searching for a suspect that killed a man by pushing him in front of a new york subway train. here's surveillance video of the woman police believe to be responsible. it happened last night when the man was shoved in front of a northbound train in queens. police believe he was pushed by the woman in her 20s. witnesses say she fled after the incident. the man died at the scene and has not yet been identified. two law students have been charged with animal cruelty in connection with an incident at a loss vegas casino in october. the 24 year olds are accused of decapitating an exotic bird at the casino. charges include felony killing and torturing of an animal. if convicted he could face prison time and it could effect his future career in law. the other was only charged with a misd
complete bay area news coverage, starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> and good morning. welcome to mornings on 2. i'm brian flores. >> i'm claudine wong. it's thursday, we want to start with breaking news we first reported at 4:30 this morning. the investigation is underway in a deadly police shooting in walnut creek. it happened hours ago and we are on creek side drive near 680 with the circumstances that led up to the shooting. >> reporter: police just wrapped up their latest briefing about 15, 20 minutes ago. we are getting new details, we have learned there are now multiple officers involved in this incident which wound up with an parent domestic violence suspect dead. investigators are still onto scene. the presence of police and sonoma -- contra kosta county deputies has decreased but we are learning that incident appears to have happened behind that brick fence you can see in the distance there. police say this may have started as a possible domestic violence incident that ended in gun fire. one suspect dead, nobody else hurt we have learned. we have learned the
